• 3-5 years experience creating beautiful Android Apps

• Have published one or more Android apps in the app store

• Experience as a technical expert on the Android platform and competency

with industry standard libraries

• Passionate about mobile engineering best practices and hands on experience using Kotlin and Java to develop Android App

• Experience in working within an Agile team, collaborating in planning, grooming and estimating.

• Experience of collaboration with cross-functional teams to define and design new features

• Working knowledge of the general mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies

• Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximise development efficiency

Key Skills

• Solid understanding of the full mobile development life cycle

• Solid understanding of UI and Core Architectural Design patterns

• Experience working with Android frameworks such as Dagger2, RxJava2, Retrofit2

• Solid experience in writing Unit Tests and UI tests, must be familiar with Junit, Mockito and Espresso

• Experience with source code versioning

• Understanding of memory constraints of mobile devices, mitigation strategies and improving application performance

• Experience building uniform experiences for devices with varying resolutions and aspect ratios

• Experience with third-party libraries and Rest APIs

• Understanding and experience of Google’s Material Design Guidelines and how they apply to building a great user experience

• Application development using: push notifications, location based services, third party cloud based storage providers.

• Familiarity with Gradle build system and Proguard

• UI Testing with Appium or Espresso

• CI tools such as Jenkins, HockeyApp • Quality reporting tools such as Fabric, Firebase

• International experience or localisation experience

• Experience developing for other platforms either natively or Cross Platform
